Hello, my name is Mark.

I am a retired Navy Medic with 46+ years of Naval Service to my credit.

I have been a stamp collector for most of my life, but due to restrictive issues such as work (being away at sea for months on end), marriage and raising a family, my collecting had to take a back seat. Since getting divorced and the family now all grown up my interest in stamp collecting has been re-kindled, and since retiring my interest has been invigorated now that I have more time for myself.

I am what you would call more of a thematic collector rather than a traditional collector. My main interests are:-

A world year set for 1957 (why 1957 - well it was the year I was born)

New Zealand Health Stamps and FDC's

Winston Churchill on stamps

My latest theme is Trams on postage stamps – which is nearly complete and I will be looking for another theme in the near future.

The vast majority of my collections are unmounted mint/MNH.

I also have a growing collection of RMS Mauretania – West Indies Sunshine Cruise Paquebot covers from 1957 and an increasing number of “Tin Can Mail” covers.
