Admission tickets are any proof-of-purchase items that allow admission to something that costs money to enter. Examples are tickets for museums, theatres, cinemas, events or public services like toilets.

Browsing the Catalog

The Colnect Admission Tickets Catalog is sortable by several properties of the tickets:

  • Countries: The country the ticket was issued in.
  • Ticket Style: The style (physical appearance) of the ticket. The following ticket styles are available:

  • Plastic card: A ticket made out of thicker plastic, often in the standardized credit card size 8.55 mm x 5.4 mm.
  • Plastic pass:

  • Wristband: A band, usually made of plastic or strong paper, that is fitted around the wrist of the admitted person in a way that removing it will tear the band apart.
  • Unknown: Either the ticket style could not be determined, or it does not fit any of the available options. If you know the correct ticket style of any item with an unknown ticket style, please submit a comment, so it can be corrected.
  • Venue Type: The type of venue the ticket was sold for, see the section on Venue Types below.

  • Concert
  • Congresses and Conferences: Here persons attend lectures, presentations or discussions around a common topic. Many are business-related, but there are also conventions on free-time activities, e.g. Comic Con or science fiction conventions. Congresses and Conferences may have an exhibition attached, but the main focus is on the conference (otherwise the ticket should go to Fairs and Exhibitions or Museums).
  • Dancing clubs
  • Fairs and Exhibitions: These venues focus on the presentation of companies or the exhibition of goods and are mostly of commercial nature. Cultural exhibitions should be filed under Museums unless their main aim is to sell the artwork on exhibition. Fairs and Exhibitions may have a congress or conference attached, but the main focus is on the exhibition, not the conference, otherwise the ticket should be filed under Congresses and Conferences.

  • Unknown: Either the venue type could not be determined, or it does not fit any of the available options. If you know the correct venue type of any item with an unknown venue type, please submit a comment, so it can be corrected.
  • Years: The year (if known) the ticket was issued in. This is derived from the Event Date (see below).
  • Catalogs: The catalog the ticket is listed in. The admission ticket category currently supports only two catalogs:
  • Colnect Codes (Colnect's own numbering system): Each admission ticket has one number in this catalog. The Colnect Code consists of the ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2 country code where the admission ticket was issued, a hyphen and a consecutive 5-digit number. Example: DE-00087 (DE: ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2 for Germany, Federal Republic -: Hyphen 00087: Consecutive number).
  • Colnect Disney Catalog: Tickets related to the Disney entertainment companies have a catalog code in this catalog in addition to their Colnect Codes entry.
  • Recently updated: Admission tickets where at least one piece of information was changed in the last 30 calendar days. The last change applied is used to determine the change age of the ticket. This can be further filtered by the last 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 calendar days.
  • Newly added: Cards added to the Colnect Admission Tickets Catalog within the last 30 days. This can be further filtered by the last 1, 3, 7, 14, and 30 days.
  • Import Log: A list of all New Item Forms (NIFs) that have been imported since the creation of the Colnect Admission Tickets category. It shows date, the person who created the NIF, the coordinator who imported it, the number of admission tickets imported, and the country of the admission tickets. Please note that it is not possible to find the admission tickets that were in the NIF, this information is not stored in the database.


The catalog also contains other properties to further describe the admission tickets:

  • Name (60 characters): The name of the ticket.
  • Location: The town or city the venue is located in.
  • Event Date: The date of the event, if longer event the start date, for tickets used for permanent items like museums start year of sale of that ticket.
  • Variants: If an admission ticket is marked as a variant, you can get a list of all variants of this admission ticket by clicking on Click to see variants.
  • Front Picture and Back Picture: Both front and back of the admission ticket should be pictured, as the back often contains important information about the issuer, motif, number and hints to determine the age. Please follow the Picture Guidelines.
  • Description: Additional information about the admission ticket. Variants should contain information on how to distinguish the variants in the description of each variant item.

Here information can be added that can't be properly entered to a single catalog item, e.g. information about companies or series. Currently empty.
