I am a French international civil servant, who began collecting stamps at 6, therefore 62 years ago (updated in Jan 2025), who never stopped collecting in the meanwhile !.

I do prefer swapping 1 : 1 when balanced and REASONABLE, or, if wishable, with catalogue value (Stampworld is not so bad, except for French classics) when really needed. Most of my duplicates are used (MNH only when clearly indicated !)

First arrived, first served (please, please, please before writing your wishlist, see what stamps are already promised, it will avoid frustration and waste of time !).

Try to select similar value stamps, because above a 1:2 ratio, as a maximum, swapping is no more interesting for me ! Of course, if needed, this law could be exceptionally changed !!!

I consider that any swap around 20 stamps and above is interesting and valuable ! For sending more than 50 stamps, I do prefer using registered letters with wonderful postage, when agreement from both side. All depends on the value of sent items !

Some people are capable to dog fight during hours for 0.25 euro of difference, please avoid me in such a case. Philately is NOT a business but a pleasure

Last point : as advised by COLNECT, don't be surprised when I put a neutral evaluation when sending my letter until I get yours, I just follow COLNECT rules, and nothing else, ! My advice to you is simply to do it too !
