My name is David Salt, I was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, and taught Mathematics until retiring early in 1990. I collected stamps as a young school boy and continued until my late twenties; eventually selling my collection in order to pay house insurance premiums! In 1996, I visited the Costa del Sol for a one week holiday. I enjoyed it so much that I returned every year and in 2006 purchased a townhouse in Nerja and became a Spanish resident. I restarted my stamp collecting hobby that year and started to save stamps of Spain, as time went by I added other countries to my collecting hobby. I now, at the age of 82 am still actively collecting and have very large collections of UK, Spain, Andorra both Spanish and French, Gibraltar, Morocco, Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, and many small Islands which produce stamps. I also have collections, but nowhere near complete, from the Caribbean, some French and Spanish Colonies, and several other smaller groups. I have, so far, only bought stamps from stamp shops, post offices, bureaux, internet: ebay, delcampe, and colnect. I think I am about to try swopping stamps on colnect as I have many thousands of duplicates and unwanted used, hinged and mnh stamps. I am a very serious collector of my selected countries and aim at a complete up-to-date collection where funds allow but my experience of exchanging stamps with other collectors is virtually zero. I have been a premium member of colnect for several years but hardly understand how it works. I have used it to list a few of my stamps because it helps me to avoid repeated buy in the same stamp! I have a great many stamps and sets that were bought that way. I do not have a home page - I never learned or taught computing at school!
