I first began collecting US and world-wide stamps in the 1970s as a youngster. When I went off to college my albums went in a box and remained there until I rediscovered them in 2019, 45 years later. I was surprised at what great condition the albums were in and the philatelist bug hit me again. I chose to keep my childhood world-wide album as-is for a memento, but decided to continue working on the US album.

I also collect stamps from all of Germany's period including the old kingdoms (Wurttemburg, Saxony, Prussia and Bavaria), German Realm, Allied Occupation, German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany (only to 2003).

I also have a few themed and series collections including trout & flyfishing, Routes on Maps, Northern & Southern Lights and others.

I inherited my Grandfather's collection which included two albums. The first is his album from his teenage years in the 1930s and 40s. He worked odd jobs to be able to purchase some fairly pricey stamps. In his later years, in the 1960s and 70s, he worked on a large world-wide album that will hold up to 50,000 stamps, which I am continuing to add to as part of my own collection.
