In March 1947, the Greek authorities took over the military administration of the Dodecanese from their British counterpart. This stamp was issued without the approval of the Athens postal administration. It consists of a red chain surcharge of 400 Drachma over 15 Drachma and a red imprint Σ.Δ.Δ. (Dodecanese Military Administration).
