On February 20, 1958 the Bank of the Republic, headquartered in BogotĂĄ, opened the doors of the library that took the name of Luis Ăngel Arango in honor of who was the bank manager at that time and the great promoter for its opening.
The library known as BLAA is the largest public library in Colombia. The bibliographical collection has nearly two million titles covering all areas of knowledge.
The library, in addition to reading-, exhibition-, music-, collection-, concert-, thematic-, rare books-, manuscript- and multimedia rooms, has interlibrary loan services, books at home service and specialized attention to researchers.
