Dmitri Gulia (1874-1960) was a Georgian historian, linguist, and public figure. He is best known for his contributions to the study of Georgian history and culture, as well as his efforts to promote Georgian national identity during the Soviet era. Gulia was a member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences and served as the director of the Institute of Georgian History. He also played a key role in the establishment of the Georgian State University and was involved in the creation of the first Georgian-language encyclopedia. Gulia's work helped to preserve and promote Georgian culture and language during a period of political upheaval and cultural suppression.
