In 2010, the Naval School of Cadets "Admiral Padilla" celebrates 75 years of existence. This institution was created in April 13, 1935, and had its first graduates on November 11th of 1938.
The Naval School of Cadets Admiral Padilla, was recognized as university, by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia, since 1977, being the first institution of higher education of Naval-military character in Colombia with qualified records to develop undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
