- Juan PÃo de Montúfar and Larrea-Zurbano, II Marquis of Selva Alegre and Knight of the Order of Charles III, (Quito, May 29, 1758-Alcalá de GuadaÃra, October 3, 1819), was a Spanish nobleman. In 1809 he was elected head of the first autonomous Government Board of Quito, precursor of what little less than two decades later would be the independence of the current Ecuador.
