Collector Profile philatelia

I have been collecting for over 50 years now, wow time flies! My specialty is Ireland and I also collect about 20 countries including Japan, Venezuela, Austria, Bermuda, Scandinavia and a few others. I have “dual” collections - I collect a mint and a used for most issues and I enjoy adding interesting older covers to my collections. I’m especially fond of bisect covers.

I’m a life member of the Eire Philatelic Association and a 35+ year member of the American Philatelic Society. The Stamp Forum, Stamporama and Stamp Community Forum are my favorite online stamp forums. I’m a retired journeyman industrial electrician, married and have two lovable schnauzers.

I do not remove the paper from self adhesive stamps that do not have a water soluble layer. I believe that the chemicals being used by some collectors to remove these stamps are harmful and the long term effects on the paper and inks are unknown. These chemicals also tend to be very unhealthy.
