Colnect Item Score is a unique index that enables you to estimate the value of an item. The score is based on how members of Colnect manage their personal collection and it is calculated automatically.

Colnect Item Score

How to read the score?

Most important is to mind the Accuracy of the score to know how trustable it is for the specific item you are viewing. Many items will not have any score presented as not enough collectors marked them on their lists. As Colnect grows, there will be more accurate results for each and every item on Colnect. The score itself ranges between the lowest value - 0 and the highest value 100. Compare only items of similar nature, such as different coins from the same country. If they have different scores, it is likely (depending on the Accuracy) that the one with higher score is worth more.

How is the score calculated?

As collectors on Colnect manage their personal collection, they are effectively helping create an image of offer and demand in the market. Prices are determined by offer and demand and so is our unique score. To ensure the reliability of the score, we use the different methods. The score may be updated every week or more so it is not volatile. Different members of Colnect may have more weight than others in determining the score. Deactivated members do not affect the score. Newer members or members with less activity on Colnect may affect the score less than veteran members with much activity on Colnect.

Why is there no exact price estimate?

Our unique algorithm cannot determine an exact price as this will rely on too many factors very specific to a specific item currently discussed. Consider an example of 50€ and 5€ banknotes listed on Colnect. They both may be just as popular but the higher denomination banknote is likely to have a higher price than the lower denominated. The condition of an item often affects its price and the condition is not indicated on our catalog. Please note that even professionals who value a specific item often supply different values for the same item.
