Zoom into pictures

A long requested feature has now been implemented - zoom control has been added on single item pages.

Go to any single item page on Colnect and hover the mouse over one of the pictures. A higher resolution picture (if available) will be loaded and used so you can notice more details.

Would you like to see this behavior in item list pages as well? Please answer the poll.

EDITORS / CONTRIBUTORS - now there's a better reason for you to upload high-resolution images to Colnect. You can upload any size you wish but we recommend nothing smaller than 800x800 or 150dpi (300dpi for smaller items such as stamps) or bigger than 2400x2400 or 1200dpi when using a scanner. For the zoom feature, Colnect currently limits the size to 1024x1024 but in the future we might increase that. The original size of your pictures is kept hidden on Colnect.

Great idea, very helpful option although zoom of full picture would be better.

I have seen zoom of front-side.

The same problem with coins - it's impossible to zoom second picture. Could you fix it?

Great Idea, and helpful especially if you want to see a particular part on a coin (e.g small writing). However i'm having the same problem, when I zoom in on the second image it shows the first image instead.

Sorry for this bug, now fixed. Last minute optimization proved faulty. Reload the previous pages and all should look well.

Previously i zoomed all pictures for myself as CTRL+roll of mouse))))

New feature is useful (and very useful for coins and stamps catalog), but i have some question about it:

1) Zoom of 10x is too large! 5x - is optimal max size.

2) I can not save the PICTURE !!!

Zoom range is between X3 and X10, use the mouse wheel to change it. Default starts with X3.

The zoom feature uses higher resolution pictures, if those have been made available by contributors or editors on Colnect. This means the quality will be MUCH better than using Ctrl+Plus or an equivalent.

Landerstorm - why would you need to separately save pictures from Colnect?

I think it is very useful to see the differences between the variants coins

Very useful, specially to read the information on the drinks labels.

The only thing I see is that we lost the chance of "Save picture as...". I use it many times to edit the picture in my local PC.

zoom is ok with Firefox, chrome, but no with I.Explorer (v8 or V10)...
