Following long months of hard work we're proud to present newest and best feature to date: Automatic Exchange

With Automatic Exchange Colnect will decide for you who to trade with and when. You will no longer have to communicate with other collectors and decide what to exchange. Just keep managing your wish and swap lists and Colnect will tell you from time to time what to send and to who. You will also receive packages from other collectors with items that you want.

We have created groundbreaking algorithms that ensure that the value of what you send and what you receive will be matched. Postal costs are adding into the algorithm to ensure people from countries with more expensive postal rates are not harmed.

This amazing feature means you will never have to write, talk or meet another collector again. We will soon cancel all forums and private messaging system as discussions are just a waste of time. The new Colnect will ensure you are the happiest collector.

We'd love to hear from you here how fantastic you find this feature and how always waited for it.

UPDATE: customs and insurance included for all Auto Exchange packages

No need to worry about customs as we'll soon have Colnect specific envelopes that will be freely distributed to members. These envelopes will contain a unique compound that effectively blinds x-ray machines and custom officers will always think the package contained some printed materials. Every collector will write "books" on the package and declare their value at standard $20 USD which means no customs will ever need to be paid by Colnect members.

We're soon closing a deal with an insurance company that will cover all AutoExchange shipments against damages and losses. We're finalizing the details as the insurer demanded that each such envelope will have a tiny GPS tracking device that will allow Colnect servers to track it. In case of theft, we'll know where the thief is and will automatically notify law enforcement agencies. Implementing this unique technology means the insurance prices will be kept at minimum.

Please do not forget to include custom rules to exchange algorithms.

As you know collecting items older 50 years should have special permission to be sent abroad.

Therefore, I suggest to exclude items older 50 years from algorithms database in case of international trade.

make sure fail-safe measures are in place as to not end up with dividing-by-zero swaps where I have to send nothing to some random collector on the wrong side of the Atlantic and in return i get absolutely nothing

I suggest you to add a profile option like "No Swaps".

For example, due to new customs regulations in my country, I am not swapping at this moment.

sometimes we swap with a person just because we thind him friendly, not for a big swap.

private messaging is not use only for swap, dont remove it please.

if auto exchange does only proposals, it is a very good thing, but we must decide ourselves.

and we need to adjust the frequency (1 time per month, for example).

Looking at the calender I certainly hope that Automatic Exchange is an April Fools joke.

I was about to translate the announcement in Afrikaans and I read the contents and I decided not to.

I prefer to select who to Swap with and what material is of interest to me. If it means that Colnect will decide what my collection should look like and force me to send material to any Tom, Dick or Harry I will no longer participate in Colnect and remove my collection from the site.

If it is an deliberate attempt to get a reaction and that about an April Hoax you have succeeeded.
