Inventory Notes - Add the item condition

Postby Dana-Levitas »

Another useful feature for Inventory Notes is now available. Now, in addition to marking the Quantity you have of an item, you can quickly add the Condition of the item you have.

How do I do it?

You have marked an item on your list. Now hover your cursor over the star next to the inventory note box.

A menu of possible item conditions appears. Choose the condition of the item you want or have.

Try it now and let us know what you think!

Each collectible category has it's own item conditions list. Some of the lists are still pending or open to changes - would like to see a different list? Post it on the forum.

We've additionally ensured item notes can only be added when an item is checked on your list (UPDATE: it is now possible to add notes to unchecked items as before, see the option on your "My Account" page). Removing a check near an item would remove its notes. A warning message is shown if you try to uncheck an item that has notes.

Quick mark option - before removing items using quick mark a warning message will be shown.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Just a second before all coin and banknote collectors jump and say that marking different years is not yet supported on Colnect, please know we plan to implement support for different years of a coin/banknote soon enough. Be patient and you'll get it all! :)

I like it and it is very useful for collectors. I voted and will mention the details here. I collect both used and mint for stamps, there is no "mixed or both" feature available yet. That feature should be included.

It's a good start, but what we really need is condition per instance of an item type, not for a whole set of them. For example, I might have a coin that's MS-60 and another that's PR-69 from a proof set for the same year.

[romeomck] and [Houseofham] - yes, the improvements you are both suggesting should be included, and will be if we find in the future a comfortable looking way to implement it. For now, it's one option menu with no mixed options. You should mark the best condition for items you have (collection/swap) and the worst condition you are willing to receive (wish).

Yes, the number (diamond) is for quantity of items, and the star is for item condition.

Great improvement, it would be nice if you click 2 then another line should appear and if you click 4 then 4 lines should be there so you can select the grade for each banknote/coin you have of the same type.

For now, the free-text comments can be used for whichever purpose one would want, including the indication of condition and quantity specifics. Later we might add the option to provide specifics but it doesn't seem very needed by most collectors.

For future reference - I think this is possibly a good format to implement when the feature is changed in the future.

A line for each item might be an overkill. For example, if you have an unopened roll of pennies fresh from the mint, you probably wouldn't want to see 100 rows and have to select Condition 100 times. It might be better to just have an "Add Record" button that would create another row with fields for "Number of items", "Condition", "Price/Item", "Notes" and whatever else.

If i mark a stamp as "used" in my swap-list, is possibile for my friend to verify if i have available a MINT stamps or an USED stamps. I have seen in the detail of the stamps, but seems not visibile. Thank you.

[simonag69] - you can see the public notes, including the item condition, on the single item page. You can see it at the bottom of the page, next to the username of each collector that has marked the item in their collection. I hope this answers what you meant to ask.

Good but you only can choose one condition.

thats ba for example stamps you search mint AND used, you can only click on used OR mint condition.
