Happy to let you know it's now possible to have a second picture for stamps on Colnect, as it is for all other categories.
Please use this second picture for: watermarks or other relevant details (for example, details explaining how this stamp is slightly different from another similar stamp).

I think it's good to have the option to add a picture for indicating differences, watermarks or details.
But I don't support the way of adding it as a second picture.
First picture should show the front side, second picture should show the back side.
As stamps don't have back sides it doesn't make sense in my opinion to add a second picture.
All categories have cases where an additional picture would be useful to make certain things more clear.
However, in my opinion, such pictures should have a special role. (E.g. not visible in lists by default)
As coins, phonecards and other collectables often have cases, too, where clarification would help I don't think we should add there a third picture but some other picture options.
Just my opinion.
Jens, you're right that this should be added as an additional feature allowing for more pictures to be included. I disagree about not showing the additional pictures on the list page. The list page today includes most pieces of information and the single item pages adds the lists of collectors and perhaps more specifics (as the catalog code and bigger picture). Anyway, until this feature is implemented, I believe the stamps category can greatly benefit from having this additional option.

SOME STAMPS do have prints on the backside, like these Portugal series:

Also, in Portugal, there's been apllied to all stamps issued after 1978 a phosphor stripe, only seen in ultraviolet light.
Those stripes are sometimes different on stamps from the same sheet, so it's also interesting to have a pic of them...
So, for me, a second, or even a third picture for stamps makes a lot of sense....

You're welcome to use Collecotr Comments to submit information so we can see it on Colnect directly or even request the stamp coordinators to become an editor

It's not a bug....
That portuguese auction site doesn't like to be hot linked to their images.... LOL
I'l try to get those second pictures up on the portuguese stamps....
