Postby Dana-Levitas »

We are looking in our collectors community for collectors willing participate and help out with adding a Beer Labels category to Colnect.

We have most of what we need as the category will be close in organisation to Beer Coasters. We need assitance in buliding the catalog.

We and collectors community will very much appriciate if you could contribute :)

If you are intersted, please respond PUBLICLY. If relevant I will be happy to provide more speciphic details.

Joyous Collecting :)

Hi.

Why don’t we think in beer & wine labels or drinks labels in general.

I have an small collection of wine and champagne labels, and I am thinking of expand it. Now I am collecting only the labels of bottles I am drinking....

I don’t know if there are more collectors of wine labels to support my idea?

Thanks,

Hernán.-

For the time being, it seems that those who have extensive label collections of a kind of a drink tend to collect one kind of drink. Meaning beer label collectors are less likely to also have an extensive collection of other drink labels. Beer labels seems to be very popular among collectors, so there is a need for such a category. Creating a general drink label category may create confusion and disorder in the organising of the category.

Of course, with time we will see and if need and possibilty arises, and we witness there is a group of collectors of other drink labels it would be only natural to start working on adding those categories as well :)

Thank you for your feedback and

Happy Collecting :)

sounds a great idea to include all drinks labels as in the beer coasters and bottle tops sections, soft drinks and spirits are included as well as beer.

Hi,

Sorry but I have to insist a full Drinks Labels category. As John said, we have full drinks in other categories.

I think, with and structure like this one, we can support all drinks labels:

I Imagine the distribution of collectors will be:

65% - 70% beer

20% - 25% wine and champagne

10 % others

Country --> Location--> Beverages --> Brand -->

#Catalog-Code

Country

Location

Beverages

Brand

Series

¿Year?

Label Size

Volume ml

Description

Pic 1 Front Bottle Label

Pic 2 Back Bottle Label (Optional)

Pic 3 Small Bottle Neck Label (Optional)

My only doubt is to include or not a field for the year. In wine make sense for the harvest. In beers maybe for limited editions.

Amir, If you want, I can take the bottle caps' NIF as example, change some things to support my initial draft, and complete it.

One example for Beers, other for wine, and a third for other drink, maybe a Gin, that seems to popular too.

Please let me know what you think?

Thanks,

Hernán.-

To leo333 - Happy to see you starting out on Colnect and wanting to contribute. To add more Beer Coaster collectibles you can follow the instructions in our Catalog Contribution Guidelines :

https://colnect.com/en/help/collecting/ ... guidelines

You can contact the Beer Coaster Category Coordinator wolverinecr for help or more information.

Hope this helps, and post on the Collectors Support forum in the future if you need help or are having problems.

To hbofill12 - We will be very happy to recieve your help with the new category. May you be willing to be the coordinator for the new upcoming category? It is possible also add a "Beverage Type" Field. What do you think?

Happy Collecting :)

It is a pleasure for me to help with the launch of this new category, and of course, I would like to coordinate it when it is ready. As I told you before, I would like to expand my labels collection.

I will include the "Beverage Type", and prepare some NIF file as a first Draft.

Thanks,

Hernán.-

Sone comments to my previous post.

1. Country - the list of countries must be extended by non existing now, for example Russian Empire or USSR as the separate country.

2. Region. For beer as examples for US - state, for USSR - republic. For wine same, for France - wine region.

3. Volume ml is not OK - the range of volumes is from 10 ml up to 50 L (50000 ml is not beautiful).

Fields Drink type, Country, Region, Location, Producer must be filtrable fields, other - descriptive

Hi, Thanks for your comments.

Ones the NIFs files were uploaded. I will work on you suggestions.

1 - Won't be a problem, because most of the past countries exist in other categories.

2 - Here is common to use location as regions. Or are you suggesting to add a second column? as example Location: "Mendoza" and Region can be "Mauipu" or "La Consulta".

3 - I will take note of this.

Thanks,

Hernán.-
