Themes/European Years

The European Years are a series of themed years designated by the European Union (EU) to raise awareness about specific issues, promote activities and encourage cooperation among EU member states.

The themes are proposed by the European Commission, which are then adopted by the European Parliament and EU member governments. Although European Years have been running since 1983, they don’t necessarily occur every year.
