Compact Cassette – an analog magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback developed in 1963. A cassette contains two miniature spools, between which the magnetic tape (magnetically coated plastic film) is passed and wound. The dimensions of a cassette are 10 cm × 6.3 cm × 1.3 cm.
