Retro: It was minted to commemorate the 615th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald , one of the most pivotal events in European history. Fought in 1410, it testified to the strength of the united forces of the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, which defeated the elite of the Teutonic Order. This triumph not only strengthened the position of the Kingdom of Poland, under the leadership of King Władysław Jagiełło, as the dominant power in Central and Eastern Europe, but also became a timeless symbol of the unity and determination of free nations in the face of aggression; theme at lower Grunwald, dates of event beneath 1410 - 2025.
