Michel notes after GN 1796 "Other values of a similar design were created without authorization from the post office and are not valid for postage.". This item is what was referenced. This item was massively and excessively produced as the whole Animals of the World series was. It is ONLY listed in Yvert. The status may change in the near future in which case it will be moved to the illegal stamps category.
The printer and the stamp agency owned by Mr. Juan Carlos Marino Montero have been proven to produce many illegal stamps in the name of numerous countries causing his "companies" collapse in early 2000's due to his exposure. Some in the name of Guinea Republic are shown here on Colnect in the illegal stamps category for this country.
