開元通寶 - Kai Yuan Tong Bao (New beginning currency). Early type (minted from 0621 to 0718). Conocida como 武德開元 (Wu De Kai Yuan). This type can be distinguished by (As shown in Hartill): - The 井 component of 開 does not touch the hole; - The head of 通 is small; - The top storke of 元 is short; and - The two horizontal stroke in the middle of 貝 of 寶 do not touch the verticals.
