Description:
Bright colors. Lettering at base is black and ½mm below design.
Stanley Gibbons describes the two dirrent printings, but does not separately list them. As an aid to help people identify their stamps correctly the SG note reads as follows:
Approximately 70% of the printing of this stamp was done on the photogravure section of a new recess and photogravure combination press, and the remaining 30% on a conventional Andreotti photogravure press. The marginal markings differ and the combination-press printings tend to be duller. The phosphor on the Andreotti printings is all over, on the combination-press it is a band. On the Adreotti printings the imprint giving the name of the painting and the artist is closer to the foot of the design.
