San Pelayo, a municipality located in the Cordoba department, is the permanent seat of the National Festival of the Porro that is held annually between 29 June and 3 July and since 1977, to celebrate the two centuries of the founding of the municipality. It begins with the proclaimed anthem of the festival "the Porro Maria Varilla" and, as a curious fact, the third day of the festival the bands go to the cemetery and give homage to the missing musicians.
