The fifty Japanese yen stamp which can be used to send post cards within Japan has a drawing of a paper-mache toy rabbit made in Nishi-Aizu or West Aizu. Nishi-Aizu is located in Fukushima, Japan. The area has been making papier-maches for hundreds of years and thus these toys are known as Nishi-Aizu Hariko. The toy rabbit is called Kubi-furi-shofuku-usagi. Translated, it means a rabbit that bobs its head and brings good luck.
