Although this issue was authorized by the Liberia postal administration, virtually the whole issue was not sold in Liberia, but only distributed by the Liberia philatelic agency IGPC for distribution onto the philatelic market. This item still being sold on the IGPC website as of 2025.

Description:: This item has been denounced in Niger 2000 UPU Circular 194 as illegally produced without the authorization of the postal administration. They were produced by Mayfair International Security Printers located in France and distributed through the so-called philatelic agencies called "France Philatèlie" and "France Philatèlie 2000" owned and run by Mr. Juan Carlos Morino Montero. This (except for the printing company) specified within the circular.

Bogus certificates of authenticity made by the International Collectors Society claiming this to be an official stamp issue exist.
