The printing plates of the Willem III stamps consist of 100 stamps. It is often possible to accurately determine the position at which a stamp was placed on the printing plate.
10 Cent Plate I.
A very carefully manufactured printing plate with sharp prints. Above the "POST" frame and below the "10" frame, the outer frame line is often thin or clearly trimmed. The top right and left outer frame lines have been extended in some cases. The lower outer framing line is extended on the left at 22 stamps, although this is sometimes minor. 12 Stamps have a retouch in the "POST" frame and 18 stamps in the "ZEGEL" frame. Over ¼ of the stamps have a reinforced left inner frame line.
NVPH lists 2 variants from this plate (NVPH NL 2a and 2b).
Variant NVPH NL 2b:
The long thin color lines have become shorter and some have partly disappeared. The vertical lines in the "POST" frame become less visible. The paper thickness can vary from thin to normal paper thickness.
