- There are 2 paper variants according to Belgian catalogue, but not given different catalogue numbers. Until 1908 thin paper was used (32gr per m²). After that thicker paper was used (54gr per m²). In 1914 the Germans that occupied Belgium got their hands on these stamps and they sold them against bargain prices and flooded the stamp market. Therefore the majority of this series are these type of stamps.
