The first of these postal emissions dedicated to Colombia´s Independence called "first series of the bicentennial of Independence" is dedicated to honor the memory of many heroes, from different fields of knowledge as philosophers, jurists, priests, scientists, academics and writers who had active participation in all the events of Colombia's national independence.
