- Landis & Gyr phone cards called dummy or muster are proofs for product evaluation (proof card).
This type of card did not allow the phone call because the optical band / strip was missing.
In theory, there are dummy cards for each design produced for ordinary cards, special cards and private cards.
The production was of a few pieces, probably from 1 to 4 printing sheets (from 55 to 220 pieces).
Depending on the printing period, they can be summarized with the following characteristics:
THERMOGRAPHIC CARDS:
- produced until March 1994 - with thermo-lacquer (thermographic strip), without control number;
- manufactured from March to June 1994 - with overprinted thermolacquer (Sample Muster Specimen), without control number;
- manufactured since June 1994 - without thermo-lacquer (thermographic strip), without control number;
FULL FACE CARDS:
- Without optical strip (aluminum strip in back side), without control number.
Finally, there are "muster/dummy" cards, without optical strip but with control number; probably printed as a gadget and not as an evaluation print; this is deduced from the numbering used higher than the card issued regularly. These cards are registered as variants of the private or demostrative cards same than ANK katalog. - Buy Now:
