- Description:
- The badge of the order was to be a gold chain consisting of two types of links arranged alternately. The first type of links were supposed to represent the sun, against which there was a white lily between the words "IN TE" (in you). The second type of links were sheaves - the coat of arms of the Vasa family - tied with a white enameled ribbon with the inscription "UNITA VIRTUS" (United Virtue). A four-armed, eight-cornered cross covered with red enamel was to be attached to the bottom of the chain. In the center of the cross, on the obverse shield, it was planned to place an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the inscription: "VICISTI VINCE" (You have conquered). On the reverse - in the center an image of the White Eagle.
In 1633, Jerzy Ossoliński presented the project of establishing the order to Pope Urban VIII in Rome, who on July 5, 1634 issued a bull approving the foundation of the order. Due to political turmoil, the Order was not awarded in 1638.
In 2019, the Order of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary was recreated based on drawings. - Buy Now:
