- Description:
- The obverse of the coin shows an image of the Oulanka River as it passes through the Oulanka National Park, located in the city of Kuusamo. The Oulanka River, covering 135 km, 105 in Finland and 30 in Russia, is a tributary of the navigable Koutajoki River that flows into the White Sea. The design of the coin is based on a photograph taken by Hannu Vallas and captured on the coin by Erkki Vainio.
