The lower right part of the coin bears a relief image of the symbols of authority: the Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia, the alabasha and the saber. Above the image, there is an inscription in Abkhazian language “Apsny Abank”, as well as an inscription indicating the coin’s denomination of 10 apsars and the year of mintage “2008”. Along the rim to the left, there is an indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the fineness and the mint’s trade mark.
The reverse:
On the smooth field – the images of Vladislav Ardzinba and the National Flag of the Republic of Abkhazia. Under the images – an inscription in Abkhazian «Ардзынба В.Г.» (“Ardzinba V.G.”), above it –an inscription in two lines «Аҧсны ахада» (“The Head of Apsny”) and the dates «1991-2005».

Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, the fineness and fine precious metal content, to the right - the mint’s trade mark. In the lower part of the coin, on the matted field – small print inscriptions of five lines “Аҧсны Абанк”, the year of mintage "2009".
The reverse:
The reverse side bears a portrait of the founder of Abkhaz literature Dmitry Gulia, to the left – an image of the elements of the first Abkhaz alphabet, below the portrait – the dates in two lines "1874" and "1960".
