It is 0.5 Liang (Ban Liang means half Liang) by the Qin Dynasty (300 BC - 200 BC), diameter 35 mm, thick coin, 13.3 g, inner square-like hole is 9.5 mm. Traditionally attributed to Qin, this type is also found in tombs of an earlier date. According to the book by Hartill on page 83, one liang represents the Chinese ounce and consists of 24 zhu. In the book by Hartill on page 83, one can also found that the coins such as the Ban Liang (half liang = 12 zhu) must have the weight of 8 gramms but the real weight of such coins is 12 gramms and more, or less than 5 gramms.
